If you've been hearing a lot about LinkedIn lately, it's because so many people are diving onto the platform and leveraging it for their business. So you definitely want to get on board NOW.
Reason being, LinkedIn keeps growing as it's bound to become more and more popular, not just for job seekers, but for entrepreneurs looking to network and grow their small businesses. And no, I am not a fortune teller. But based on how drastically it's grown and changed in the last couple of years, and also based on data, it will be disingenuous to think this pattern of growth will fade away.
#1: LinkedIn Is Business Focused
If you have a business, you want to be on LinkedIn, because it is business oriented, and has tools and analytics that help you monitor your progress. One misconception a lot of people have is that LinkedIn is way too serious. Maybe it's just me, coz I'm a somewhat boring person, but that's false. Yes it caters to businesses, however, you can be personable on LinkedIn. That's actually the best way to approach the platform in order to standout and take down that wall of LinkedIn being all suit and tie.
#2: Less Competition
Unlike other social media platforms, LinkedIn is more business oriented. Only a fraction of its subscribers are active users, leaving the active users significant reach to engage in sales/marketing/networking. So at the moment, compared to other platforms, it is relatively easier, to gain visibility and reach than platforms like Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
#3: Networking Made Easy
It is a platform where u can easily meet and connect with people inclined to have some interest in your content and/or services. It facilitates brand exposure. It's a great option if you want users who engage more with your commentary. It's the best platform to easily showcase your expertise. On LinkedIn, you can be sure that the likes and comments you get imply interest in your content, meaning lead generation, which is why we are all on social media. Well most of us, I will assume.
#4: Your LinkedIn Profile
There is nothing I love more about LinkedIn than the way it structures your bio page. It allows you the space to create your bio in such a way that could serve as your sales page, and even your mini website. Basically, interested users can learn a whole lot about your content and services simply by viewing your profile. Therefore, optimizing your bio the right way is essential. Like any other platform, it requires you to be active and consistent to experience rapid growth, but once you set out to do that, growth here is even more rapid.
#5: Content Creation
As long as you consistently create valuable content, the algorithm tends to work very much in your favor. There are over 820 million users on LinkedIn, but just a little over 4 million of those users consistently create content. That tells you, that creating amazing content for your ideal audience paves the way for you to stand out way more easily than your peers. Also, there is a variety of ways you can choose from in order to create content. You just need to find what works for you and start creating.
